Martin Meyer
Professor Martin Meyer is Chair in Business & Innovation and Head of Business & Management at the University of Sussex. Martin’s research interests include innovation in technology intensive and service sectors, knowledge exchange, and entrepreneurship. He has published widely on these topics in recognised international, peer-reviewed journals, such as Research Policy, R&D Management, Regional Studies, and Scientometrics. Martin is also one of the editors of Prometheus, a journal dedicated to critical innovation studies. He presented his work at numerous international conferences and workshops organised by international organisations, such as the World Bank or the OECD. His evaluative and consultancy work extends to user-driven innovation and global innovation environments. He acted as an advisor, consultant or rapporteur for organisations, such as the European Commission, the European Patent Office, the Finnish Parliament, or the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering (IVA). Prior to his roles at Sussex, Martin held appointments at Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University), the Finnish Institute for Enterprise Management , Linköping University (Sweden) and the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). He also worked in the private sector as a consultant for Technopolis and RAND Europe. He is currently an associate of Quotec, the technology management consultants.
