Ingjerd Skogseid
Ingjerd Skogseid (Dr. Scient) is a researcher at Western Norway Research Institute. She has a doctoral degree in informatics from the University of Oslo, Norway addressing rural innovation systems and development of information infrastructures. She has a Master of Science degree in Information Science from University of Pittsburgh PA, US from 1993. Following her master’s degree she was employed as a research assistant at University of Pittsburgh, US (1993-1994). Since 1995 she has been a research scientist in the applied information technology at Western Norway Research Institute and has been involved in a number of projects project ranging from work with groups of small and medium businesses, to large international projects addressing public sector services, she had experience in both project management and as researcher in these projects. Her research interests are in rural and peripheral development with an emphasis on innovation and use of ICT to overcome distance challenges.
