Pooran Wynarczyk

Professor Pooran Wynarczyk holds the Personal Chair of Small Enterprise Research and is the Director of Small Enterprise Research Unit (SERU) at Newcastle University Business School, UK. She is an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA); Founder of the ESRC sponsored North East of England Role Model Platform for Innovative Women; and a Board Director of the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE). She has published widely in the areas of SMEs, entrepreneurship, innovation, and science, technology, engineering & mathematics (STEM) pipeline (policy, education and employment). Her recent research, sponsored by the ESRC Science in Society Programme, has focused on the impact of gender innovation on regional technology, economy and society. She is the co-editor of the ‘Innovating Women: Contributions to Technological Advancements’, the first volume of ISBE/Emerald book series, and currently in the process of writing a monograph book, ‘The Dynamics of Open Innovation in SMEs’, to be published in June, 2013 by Routledge. Her other publications include: ‘Providing the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Skills of Tomorrow, Published in New Technology, Work and Employment, November, 2009.
